Want Curb Appeal that Looks Like a Million Bucks, But Don’t Have a Million to Spend?
If you’ve priced ways to increase your curb appeal, you likely had a bit of sticker shock. It costs a lot to have a pretty home. Of course, we all know just how important great curb appeal is. Your home makes its first impression from the curb, and you want it to look its best! If you’ve been wanting to spruce up your curb appeal on the cheap, we have some awesome ideas for you!
1. Clean Up Your Yard- A well-manicured front lawn will make a great first impression. Spend some time trimming up unruly bushes, clearing weeds, and cutting the grass. This will cost you practically nothing (unless you need professional assistance) and will make your home look instantly fresher.
2. Replace Your Mailbox- A new mailbox is a great way to make a great first impression. Upgrade to a new model that matches your home’s vibe. Those bills and weekly circulars will look a lot better coming from a pretty mailbox.
3. New Porch Furniture- A couple of bright white rocking chairs, a bench, or a great porch swing are all ways to make your porch feel homey and inviting. While porch furniture is an investment, it usually pays for itself in the warm summer months. If you already have furniture, consider painting it with a fresh coat or adding some colorful outdoor pillows and throw blankets that will make your porch stand out from the street!
4. Light it Up- New light fixtures on your home can instantly make your home look less tired and more alive. There are some beautiful outdoor lighting options on the market that won’t break the bank and will make your home sparkle.
5. Bring in a New Hue- Go for a fun front door or shutter color! A fresh door color can make your home pop. Robins egg blue and popular mustard yellow are two colors we’re currently loving. Pop on a fresh coat of trim paint, while you’re at it, for a fresh look.
6. Add Attractive Numbers- Those run-of-the-mill house numbers are not going to cut it. Spend just a few dollars at the hardware store for some fresh numbers. It’ll instantly make your home look like you have great style. (We already knew you had great style, now shout it to the curb!)
7. Light the Way- Add lights around your flower beds or along your front walk. Lights bring safety on dark evenings and will make your yard look great. While you’re at it, add some spotlights to shine a light on your home and showcase all the great curb appeal changes you’ve made!
Take a few hours and try one or two of these ideas. Your house is sure to look fresh and your curb appeal quotient will increase dramatically!
