We’re right in the thick of springtime. Of course, if your allergies haven’t tipped you off yet, the sunny weather will! Before you start planning all of your spring activities, take a look at this list of the most important spring jobs you need to do for every area of your house.

Each season comes with its own set of unique maintenance chores that are necessary to keep your household running smoothly and safely. Go area by area to quickly and efficiently finish these maintenance jobs in a few hours or over the course of a weekend. You’ll be glad to have these off your plate so you can get back to enjoying all that spring has to offer.

·         Exterior- Do a good deep clean of your home’s exterior. Rent or hire a pressure washer to clear off the grime. While you’re at it, take stock of the exterior paint that might need a spruce up this time of year. While you’re cleaning sidewalks and your driveway, check for cracks or holes that may have occurred during the freezing temperatures of winter. Repair these to keep your surfaces looking great and to avoid further damage.

·         HVAC- Change your air filters for the season so that your AC unit can run smoothly when the weather starts to warm up. Check for and clear any stray plants that might interfere with your air compressor. Your AC unit needs good airflow to work properly, ensure any troublesome brush is cleared from the area.

·         Gutters- April showers will bring May flowers, but they will also cause roof damage if your gutters are clogged! Clear the gutters from all the debris that accumulated in your gutters over the past seasons.

·         Windows and Doors- Check the seals of your windows and exterior doors to ensure they won’t let any air in or out. While you’re at it, check your window screens in each window, this will ensure you can open the windows on nice days and keep the critters out!

·         Roof- Extreme temperatures and storms could have damaged your roof since winter. Check your roof tiles to find any missing or broken tiles. This is the best way to ensure you won’t experience leaks or water damage this spring.

·         Lawn Equipment- Tune up your mower before you head out to do your first round of spring lawn care. Swap out any spark plugs that are in need of repair, change the oil, and replace any dull blades in your mower. Replace your weed trimmer’s line before using it this year.

Take one or two areas at a time to make quick work of these jobs and finish this to-do list within a few hours’ work. You’ll be glad to know your spring maintenance is complete and can fully enjoy all that spring has to offer.
